Jourdan Younis is a creator. He is a Californian serial entrepreneur and advisor to entities spanning North America, Europe and the MENA region. As an angel investor who is both mentor and mentee, he believes in giving back and paying it forward. He has a deep global network with experience in working with start-up trailblazers who are developing solutions for the proptech, cleantech and fintech spaces. He and his firm offer financial investment from incubation to scaling success and ultimate exit.
Currently, as Board Member for Presidio Advisors and Mowgli (UK), Jourdan identifies and nurtures companies with a passion for transforming emerging markets. He is also a director for Alpin Limited, a privately-held sustainable development company with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Doha. In this role he oversees the strategy of this organization. Jourdan helped the team secure capital to scale the business which culminated into a successful sale to a multinational French engineering group. During his time at Alpin he launched Alpin Innovation Labs, Alpin Diversity (to support the development of women in STEM in the Middle East), oversaw the creation of the national standards for sustainable development in Saudi Arabia, was a TEDx speaker and presented at conferences across the region for the UNDP. He is now focused on bringing innovation into the development industry, growing Alpin into new markets and partnering with key organizations such as UNIDO, Fortune 500 firms, sovereign wealth funds and various governmental ministries.
Previously, Jourdan was technical director for a multi-national European engineering firm where he led the development of innovation in the MENA region. He has also worked with the strategy and growth divisions for a London based engineering firm and two San Francisco based development companies.
Jourdan holds an MBA (Venture Capital Focus) from London Business School, a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) and studied abroad at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he focused on Entrepreneurial Studies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for several companies, and delivers executive level courses on behalf of universities and major financial institutions in emerging markets.
