Qatar Free Zones Authority launch visa service office

29/09/24

Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) and the General Directorate of Passports at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) have officially inaugurated the Ras Bufontas Free Zone Visa Service Office.

This strategic initiative aims to meet the evolving needs of an ever expanding business community within Qatar’s free zones, thereby enhancing the investment landscape and streamlining operational processes for companies.

The establishment of this service office marks a significant milestone in Qatar Free Zones Authoritys commitment to empowering investors and facilitating efficient transaction completion. Furthermore, the newly launched office provides a comprehensive suite of services, including residence permit renewals, issuance and extensions, work visas, family visit visas, multi-entry visas and employer change processes. Investors can also conveniently issue or renew their company registrations using their residence or visa numbers. In addition, the office will feature a dedicated traffic services section, enabling the seamless issuance, renewal and transfer of driving licenses.

The launch of the visa office is a crucial step in the States ongoing strategy to enhance the investment environment across Qatar's free zones. By optimising processes and improving service delivery, it will support the growth and expansion of companies, aligning with Qatars sustainable economic development initiatives as well as Qatar's National Vision 2030.

The new office is expected to set new standards for efficiency, with operational hours from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM and potential extensions based on demand. Equipped with advanced technology, it will employ specialised staff to facilitate services, including biometric data collection. This partnership underscores QFZ’s dedication to fostering a supportive business environment, with over 600 licensed companies currently operating in Qatar’s free zones. By focusing on key sectors such as emerging technology, logistics, manufacturing, and biomedical sciences, QFZ remains committed to attracting further investment and driving economic growth.
